The highly technical, lightweight and durable ORTOVOX AVABAG LiTRIC TOUR 36 S avalanche backpack is ideal for multi-day ski touring and ski mountaineering. The LiTRIC system combines the advantages of electronic and mechanical systems. It allows multiple deployments on a single charge, while its weight is comparable to the lightest mechanical avalanche airbag systems (compressed-gas cartridge systems).

High-capacity supercapacitor

The LiTRIC system is powered by an integrated Li-ion battery. Charging is easy using the included USB-C cable and takes approximately 2–3 hours.

The airbag can be deployed twice on a single charge. After the first deployment, approximately 25 minutes are required for the supercapacitor to regenerate before the system is ready for another deployment. A mesh window on the side of the backpack provides a clear view of the colour-coded charge status indicator – green / orange / red.

ZIP ON system

The ZIP ON concept allows pack compartments of different volumes to be easily attached by zipper, enabling one LiTRIC system to be used with several backpack sizes. The LiTRIC avalanche backpack consists of two parts – the BASE and the interchangeable pack compartment.

Two back systems (BASE units) are available – TOUR BASE and FREERIDE BASE, each offered in two back lengths. Four different pack sizes can be attached to each BASE using the ZIP ON system. TOUR and FREERIDE packs can be combined with the different BASE systems, provided that the corresponding back length is used.

For the TOUR models, pack volumes of 40, 30, 36S and 28S litres are available, while the FREERIDE range includes 28, 18, 26S and 16S litres.

This modular design allows a single LiTRIC system to be used for a wide range of activities, from resort freeriding to multi-day Haute Route tours. The pack compartment can be easily exchanged using the circumferential zipper and side straps.
