SILCA StripChip is an innovative hot-wax additive that eliminates the need to manually degrease a brand-new bicycle chain before waxing. Its oleogelation-based formula binds with the factory grease inside the chain and transforms it into a wax-like substance, allowing the hot wax to penetrate the chain's pins and rollers. This simplifies chain preparation and makes it possible to go from a factory-packaged chain to a waxed chain in approximately 10 minutes.

Application: Add one 12 g StripChip piece to the hot-melt wax while heating. For best results, heat the wax and additive to approximately 125°C until the StripChip has completely melted. Immerse the factory-new chain for 10 minutes, gently agitating it according to the manufacturer's instructions. Reduce the temperature to 75°C before removing the chain, then allow it to cool and dry before installation. StripChip is intended for factory-new chains with their original grease; used chains must be thoroughly stripped and cleaned before waxing
