The ORTOVOX HAUTE ROUTE 32 ski touring backpack offers quick and easy attachment of additional equipment while providing plenty of space for clothing and other essentials. The ORTOVOX HAUTE ROUTE 32 opens via a circumferential back zipper – much like a suitcase – giving you convenient access to all your gear at any time. The backpack is also extremely durable, so you do not have to worry about sharp ski edges, crampons or ice axes.

In addition to the main compartment, the backpack features 7 additional pockets:

• A separate compartment for a shovel and avalanche probe. The equipment stays out of the way, does not get your other gear wet and is immediately accessible when needed.

• A top pocket for gloves, a hat, goggles and other accessories that you frequently need to access.

• A security pocket inside the main compartment for documents, money and other valuables.

• A hip belt pocket suitable for a phone, GPS or other items you want to keep within easy reach.

• A flat pocket suitable for a map, compass, hiking journal and other small items.

• 2 small pockets for storing additional straps and the helmet net.

Practical details

• The hip belt can be tightened and precisely centered using reverse-pull buckles.

• The hip belt features a loop for attaching climbing equipment or an ice axe.

• All additional straps, loops and the helmet net are stored in two small pockets, keeping them out of the way and preventing them from catching on branches or rocks.

• The backpack features water-resistant YKK® zippers, helping to keep your gear dry.

Innovative and durable NYLON 420D OXFORD material

Thanks to innovative materials, HAUTE ROUTE backpacks are exceptionally durable.

• The outer fabric is made from NYLON 420D OXFORD. The material is lightweight and exceptionally resistant to abrasion and cuts.

Together with its water-resistant finish, the new material increases the durability of the backpack while also reducing its weight compared with the previous model.

Comfortable back system for all-day use

ORTOVOX developers worked together with physiotherapists to develop the innovative O-FLEX-2 BACK SYSTEM.

• The back system consists of a stable frame and molded foam positioned in different cushioning zones.

• The shoulder straps and hip belt are reinforced with molded foam for increased comfort. The shoulder straps are additionally padded around the neck to prevent uncomfortable pressure.

• The backpack adapts to the natural S-shape of the spine. The ergonomically shaped back panel fits comfortably against your back, making the backpack exceptionally comfortable to carry.

• The weight of the load is directed towards the center of the body, ensuring that even a fully loaded backpack remains stable and comfortable during demanding mountain activities.

Practical access to the main compartment

Want to put your backpack down in the snow without getting the back panel wet? No problem. HAUTE ROUTE backpacks feature access to the main compartment via a two-way zipper running along approximately ¾ of the back panel. Simply place the front of the backpack in the snow and open it like a suitcase.

All equipment inside remains easily accessible even when additional gear is attached to the outside of the backpack. The light-colored interior improves visibility and makes it easier to find your equipment. There is also a separate compartment with a fastening strap for a hydration reservoir. The back panel is covered with softshell material that repels snow. The main compartment can also be accessed through the upper zippered opening.

Quick and secure ski or snowboard attachment

Skis can be attached using either the A-Skifix or D-Skifix system, and the backpack also allows for snowboard attachment. You can carry your skis in the classic A-frame position or diagonally. With either attachment method, you retain convenient access to the backpack and can securely attach additional equipment.

Designed to help in critical situations

Avalanche danger is a serious concern, which is why a significant part of the backpack's design focuses on quick and intuitive access to essential equipment in stressful situations. Red zipper pulls identify the compartment for the avalanche probe and shovel. Inside the backpack, you will find illustrations of emergency signals and important emergency contact information. An emergency whistle is integrated into the chest strap.
