The new R.A.S. (Removable Airbag System) 3.0 model from Mammut. Compared to the old system, it is lighter, has simpler deployment with training capability, an orange airbag, and a height-adjustable deployment handle. The system is designed so that the airbag inflates behind the victim's head and keeps them on the surface of the avalanche. The system is easily removable, so the backpack can also be used as a standard one for other activities besides skiing. In addition to Mammut, the R.A.S. 3.0 is compatible with other brands of R.A.S. backpacks, such as Norrona, DaKine, Jones, and RipCurl.
